About Tim

25 Years of Proven Building Precision in Calaveras County

Timothy (Tim) Jones isn’t just an operator behind the controls of a machine—he is a deeply rooted local builder who has spent over two decades shaping sites, pouring foundations, and safeguarding properties across Arnold, Murphys, and the surrounding foothill communities. Holding a premium, Licensed Class A General Engineering credential, Tim brings true structural precision to every project he touches.

Deep Roots in Calaveras County Earthworks

Tim’s history in the local soil runs deep. Shortly after moving to Arnold in 2001, he began installing septic systems across Calaveras County for the well-known local outfit Handford Hill under the original ownership of Joe and Callie Caccamo. That early foundation, working alongside trusted local old-timers, set the standard for his deep understanding of regional soil behavior, environmental compliance, and heavy mechanical execution.

Mountain Grit: Real-World Winter Experience

Living at high elevations means dealing with intense mountain winters. Tim doesn’t sit around when the winter weather hits; he thrives in the seat of heavy machinery during intense mountain storms.

From 2001 to 2012, Tim served as an extra-hire snow plow driver for the County of Calaveras. Working exhausting 12+ hour shifts in extreme blizzards, he learned every backroad, shortcut, and steep grade in Arnold while keeping public transport corridors open and safe for the community during major weather events.

Today, Tim continues to run heavy machinery seasonally as part of the winter operations crew for Snider Enterprises LLC, operating specialized articulating trackless machines and heavy loaders to clear local driveways in the Big Trees community.

Please Note: Tim operates strictly within planned commercial contracts and scheduled municipal/subcontractor shifts. He does not provide emergency residential rescue or on-call storm towing services during active blizzards. From Owner-Builder to Flagship Foreman

Tim’s expertise spans from hands-on field construction to comprehensive project leadership. He has successfully pulled permits and executed full end-to-end septic system installations as an owner-builder in Railroad Flat, navigating rigorous county health inspections with flawless accuracy.

His journey-level precision is stamped onto some of the region’s most beautiful flagship custom residential builds. Working side-by-side with trusted local builders like Carson Scheftner of Alpine Construction, Tim directed the complex structural excavation, concrete foundation frameworks, and custom architectural fabrications for both the Jennings home in Arnold and the Lampley build in Murphys.

The Technical Standard: The Jennings Build
“One of the most rewarding challenges on the multi-story Jennings project was the complete custom fabrication of heavy C-channel stair risers and a massive structural landing with integrated handrails. This intricate three-story construction required meticulous on-site assembly, precise teardowns to facilitate protective industrial finishing, and complex reassembly with final code-compliant anchoring. It required absolute physical tolerance with zero margin for error.”

Why Local Expertise Matters on the Mountain

Building on steep, rocky hillsides requires a level of geological foresight that standard operators simply do not possess. Underneath the soil of Calaveras County lies a brutal mix of hidden granite boulders, dense mountain clay, and complex pine root networks.

While inexperienced operators often struggle or cut corners when confronting sloped hillsides, Tim thrives on the distinct structural challenges that terrain, drainage, and steepness bring to a project. His 25 years of local operational memory means your property is engineered defensively against the elements from day one, completely surrounded by the forest settings we call home.

The Calaveras Precision Promise

Whether navigating a massive, multi-year structural renovation or executing a clean residential deck stabilization project, Tim operates under a strict code of trade precision, clear project boundaries, and absolute structural safety.

“When we break ground on your land, my primary objective is your complete peace of mind. Every client deserves to feel absolutely secure knowing that their project is built correctly, follows code to the letter, and is executed with the utmost safety from the bedrock up.”
